Well, its been an interesting few months for me at this point.
I have had problems with my blood pressure for around 7 years now, but its been maintained with a water pill.
My Migraine headaches have been few and far between at this point. But I started to have some problems with Vertigo, chest tightness and being short winded, I had no pain from these episodes and since my allergies had been at their max, I just associated it with my Asthma.
Well, fortunately for me, I am one of these people who will go to see my doctor when new symptoms last for more than just a few days. So last Wednesday I was hit with vertigo and it was bad.
I called my doctor and made an appointment for the very same day. I explained to her all that had taken place with the Ocular Migraines, migraines and that the Vertigo had just started and that I suspected that my blood pressure was high and that the water pills needed a little boost to help to control my bp.
She put me on a beta blocker and I must say that the difference that I felt was almost immediately, I have only taken 2 so far, and my energy has improved, I am not short winded at all and I actually feel like going outside and enjoying this beautiful day.
Well once again, my allergies are causing Asthma flare ups, these flare ups most of the time will send me right to the doctor, and they are so hard to get back under control. My my inhalers as well as my 6 hour treatments all seem to do very little to ward these flare ups off.
On Saturday I knew I was heading down hill again and would be calling the doctor on Monday to get another round of Prednisone so that I could breath once again.
A few days earlier, I had been down to visit Gretchen, she noticed right away that I was short winded.
So she gave me a bottle of “Air Power”, of course I didn’t start to take them right away, which I should have.
So I waited until Saturday and by then I was sick, running a low grade fever and felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.
So I started to take the “AIR POWER” and 24 hours later my chest congestion had backed off a great deal, I have tried herbs before, and while they do help, most of the time I need faster relief that what is found with herbs.
But this “AIR POWER” went to work right away.
So for those of you who also live with allergies and asthma, go to swanson vitamins and get yourself a bottle of Air Power, you won’t regret it.
I have allergies bothering me, they have been now for a few days. I do ok during the days, just some minor chest congestion, but when I go to bed, that is when my coughing starts. I always try to take a really hot shower and then I grease up with Vicks Vaporub, it does seem to help a great deal. I seen that Vicks now has a disc that you just let dissolve in the shower, I am going to have to try those next.
I started to take 1000mg of Vitamin C again, 3 times a day as per my Chiropractors instructions. I really need to stay on the Vitamin C, but I don’t give it a 2nd thought, that is until I get to feeling crappy once again.
I have been trying to stay indoors as much as possible, once the trees are in full bloom, then my symptoms will back off a little.
Do you know how nice it is to wake up in the mornings and NOT HAVE A HEADACHE?
I woke up yesterday and then again today and NO HEADACHES, these are sinus headaches that I wake up with in the mornings, once I get up and get to moving around, they will generally start to back off.
I am thinking about buying one of those Ionic Breeze units and see if they might give me some relief from this problem. Its all allergy related, the allergy meds do take the headaches out, but then they leave me feeling hung over, so I don’t take them unless I am going someplace that morning and need to be headache free right away.
I have also been reading some information about the salt lamps, they are natural ionizers and suppose to help a great deal. One of the beauty shops not to far from me, she has 3 of them throughout her place, and she tells me she has them in her home as well, and that she has noticed a great deal of difference since they have been in use.
The salt lamps are somewhat cheaper than the Ionic Breeze units, so I am thinking I might go down and buy one of them and give it a try.
I have been having a really bad time with Migraine headaches, they started about 2 months ago, they would come on about 3 times a week, the duration would vary a great deal and the last one I had, which was a month ago, well it lasted for over 24 hours before it finally left.
All of this started a year ago, and it started as vision disturbances called Ocular Migraines, I had not had a vision disturbance for over 9 months, and then the headaches started, but I had been told by the Chiropractor that I could get the headaches as well. Last Wednesday, one of the vision disturbances hit me, it was a very mild one and went away in around 20 minutes. Now today I have the headache, hopefully it won’t be a 24+ hour one.
Why is it, that when things hurt that you always bump them?
My hands hurt today, probably because the weather is up and down and just all over the place. Last week it was my hip and I could not even walk past a door that I didn’t bump into the door knob. Now its my hands and I have whacked them more than once today. I run hot water on them when they hurt this badly, I need to purchase one of those wax bath thingies and see if I can get some longer lasting relief.
For one reason or another, I have always been very skeptical of the online pharmacies, and then there is the fact that the prices always seemed to be so inflated and out of my reach.
Over the past few years, I have checked out more than one online pharmacy, only to just walk away. So of course, today when I heard about an online pharmacy that guarantees you that you will not find a lower price anyplace on the internet, that pharmacy is called drugstore.md, well, I went and checked the site out immediately
Edrugstore.md has now been online for 8 years, they also do not sell generic drugs, they sell only brand name prescription drugs, and as I said, they do provide you with a guarantee that I mentioned above.
Recently I have started to be bothered with headaches, at 1st I had thought they where sinus headaches, but the location as well as the symptoms didn’t fit. So I went to the “ask a physician” part of the site and I submitted a question regarding my symptoms.
I had a reply within minutes, along with a recommendation and instructions on how to obtain the drug from them. They also ship right to your front door.
I don’t know about you, but for me, when I am sick and that sickness last for any length of time, I start to experience restlessness and anxiety. I have talked to my doctor about this and went on Xanax for a short period of time. But I also don’t like the feeling of being hung over that Xanax leaves me with.
So with the help of the Chiropractor again, I started an alternative long term therapy treatment that will help me to deal better with this problem when it does hit me.
The past week, and thanks to a sinus infection that really ruined my rosie disposition, I found that the restlessness was trying to sneak up on me once again, it has been mild compared to the past episodes with it and I found that my best weapon of defense on dealing with this is a good B Complex, 2000 mg of vitamin C a day to help fight off sickness in general, passion flower up to 3 times a day…right now I just take the passion flower at night with my last meal for the day and it helps me a great deal to get a good night sleep.
I try to avoid all caffeine as well as chocolate, I also try to increase my water intake to at least 10 glasses a day, which is really hard to do, but it does help with the sinus infection a great deal.
Another thing that I do which helps me to feel much better is that I grease up with Vicks Vapo Rub, the vapors seems to sooth my head and help with the sinus headaches that go along with a sinus infection.
I try to stay away from prescription drugs as much as I can, because for me I have found that in most cases they take care of one problem, while they stir up a dozen others in the process, I have had far more success with herbs, homeopathic and taking a good multi vitamin can’t hurt either.
About a month ago, I mentioned to my Chiropractor that I am having problems from muscle spasms in my neck. He suggested a combination of Calcium, Magnesium, Passion Flower and Valarian Root, the combination is called MyoCalm and labeled as a muscle relaxation formula. This dietary supplement is amazing, the 1st thing that I noticed was that I was getting a much better nights sleep and it has relieved the spasms a great deal.
I looked up Passionflower to see what it uses where and figured I would post them here.
So if you are one of the millions of people who can’t get a good nights sleep because of pain, tension or whatever is bothering you, just give passionflower a try and I am sure you will be as pleased with the results as what I am.
Uses for Passionflower
Passionflower has been used for anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, epilepsy, and other conditions of hyperactivity, as well as high blood pressure. Passionflower also is included in many pain formulas when discomfort is caused by muscle tension and emotional turmoil.
Passionflower Precautions and Warnings
Passionflower is generally considered to be nontoxic when used in moderation. Many herbalists prescribe three or four cups a day without any problems reported. Do not take passionflower if you are already taking prescription medication for anxiety or depression, as excessive sleepiness has been reported.
Also be aware that passionflower’s close relative, blue passionflower, should not be used, as it does not have the same activity.
Passionflower Side Effects
Depression of the nervous system may result in fatigue and mental fogginess if you take too much passionflower for too long. Start with a low dose several times a day and increase as you learn how you respond to passionflower.
I think I have a sinus infection, for the past few days I haven’t been able to stay warm and I have had a god awful headaches as well.
So today when I woke up I knew something was brewing, my head is killing me, I can’t breath through my nose, I am sneezing like crazy and I feel like CRAP.
I started taking 2000 mg of vitamin C on a daily basis at the suggestion of my Chiropractor, I have had swollen glands on my neck for about a month now, but I hadn’t been sick, not up until now. And what is really funny now is the fact that I have been taking the vitamin C since Wednesday, the swollen gland has returned to just about normal and now I am sick….so go figure.
I am going to give my doctor a call tomorrow and get an antibiotic prescription from her.
Other than that, I am just going to be drinking lots of water and getting plenty of rest.
